Meet Our Team

A&R Termite Control, Inc was founded by William (Bill) Gurney, who based his choice of the company name on the Words "Always Reliable." Mr. Gurney developed his expertise in pest control in the San Diego area with other members of his family and then moved to Northern California in the mid-fifties to begin his own business. A&R relocated to its present location in San Mateo in 1958. 

Our current owner Charles (Skip) Gurney, the founder's son, learned the termite business at an early age, working summers with his father and uncle. Skip officially purchased the company in 1965, after spending some time in the ARMY and enjoying a successful career in sales. 

In addition to Skip, Cliff Williams who has been inspecting for almost 42 years and has been with A&R Termite Control for 35 years, adds his expertise as both inspector and General Manager.
